Rain Drops

As I am about to embark on this journey I have to keep telling myself that God has ALL the details worked out.  I get stressed, sucked dry spiritually, and flooded with doubts when I stop reminding myself that God is in control.  I guess that's why it's so important to stay in the Word everyday.  It gives us the confidence and boldness to move forward on His promises.

Back to the details part.  Our God is such a detail oriented God.  We've all heard that He has names for all the stars and has each of our hairs numbered.  But how about this one:  He knows where EACH rain drop is going to fall BEFORE the cumulonimbus is in the sky!  I thought about that tonight as the rain drops were hitting my window.  Somehow I find that a bit more impressive than the hairs on my head.  (Especially as it's thinning :)  I guess it's probably the weatherman in me too though.

Late Night Storms

Tonight was probably my last night of severe weather coverage at KFOR.  I had to stay late and cut into programming several times due to all the storms.  I think I will miss the excitement and urgency of severe weather coverage.  I definitely will not miss the loooong hours.  (Tonight I'm getting to bed at 4AM).  It has been a long storm season!

This is only one element I will partly miss.  There are others.  I'm sure I will be in a reflective state for awhile as I close in on my last day.  Overall though, I am confident I have made the right choice to move on and go to seminary.  I will be sure to have a demo reel though when I leave the station just in case :)

Kitchen Stove?

Yesterday I had someone look at my house.  My realtor showed him around and then gave me a call afterwards.  He said the gentleman liked everything except the placement of the kitchen stove.  The gentleman (a Chinese man) told my realtor he was superstitious about having the stove face the front door (even though it's in another part of the house).  I couldn't believe it.  I'd never heard of such of thing!  I called a friend to tell him about it and he suggested it was probably feng shui.  Sure enough.  I did some searching on the internet and according to feng shui practice my stove is in the wrong place!  Stoves are an integral part of the kitchen arrangement in feng shui.

I've been thinking about this since yesterday.  What keeps crossing my mind is the bondage that this gentleman is in.  He finds a house that he likes but can't buy it because of his concern that the stove may interfere with receiving "positive qi."  I am not upset at this gentleman for not buying my house.  I am upset at the Enemy for the deception.  The gentleman preferred to call it superstition, but it's bondage.  Any form of superstition is flat out bondage.  Being the master of disguise, I know Satan is all over it.

I will pray for this gentleman to find the freedom that only comes from Jesus Christ.  (Galatians 5:1)  It is the most free life ever!

New Frontier

Music is a great escape of mine.  I love the freedom in composing.  I can make a song melody go anywhere.  Here is a new song I composed called "New Frontier."  It's about new horizons and the vast lifetime of discovery that comes with knowing Christ.   Enjoy.
