Thankful

Today on Veterans Day I am grateful for the men and women who have served and are currently serving in the military. A BIG THANK YOU!

On the subject of being thankful, it's impossible to be in a sour mood when we are aware of everything we have to be thankful for. In the morning I like to just rattle off to God whatever comes to mind that I am thankful for. It really sets my day in a positive direction. Try it, you'll see. The challenge is to name 10 things that you are thankful for every morning. Here were mine this morning:

1. Coffee
2. Comfy chair
3. My warm socks
4. Roof
5. Warmth
6. Job
7. Car
8. God's Word
9. Friends/Family
10.Health

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

  1. Hi,
I don't know if you will even see this, it being two years after you wrote this post, but I live in Oklahoma and used to watch you on KFOR (we miss you...but understand). I have seen your obedience to God taking up your cross to follow Him and the new journey He has placed before you! I just found your blog and could not stop reading. Your posts are so encouraging! This one especially has stayed with me. Since I have read it I have started my mornings off with the 10 things I am thankful for that day. I have to tell you, as you know already, it makes a HUGE difference. I have found even in my prayers throughout the day that I am more conscious to THANK God for what He has done and not just ASK for what I need. Thank you so much for sharing what you do with us all. It is truly a blessing. Great scripture reference too! God works in great ways... that passage of scripture has been on my heart all week long. May God continue to bless and guide you on this journey as you seek Him with all your heart! ~ God bless. Acts 20:24.
